Volunteers make Rooted In’s work possible. Whether you recover surplus food, prepare meals, keep the kitchen organized, or contribute professional skills behind the scenes, your time helps nutritious food reach more people across Greater Green Bay.
Why volunteers matter
Our mission is to build a community table where all people are nourished and uplifted—and volunteers are essential to building that table. By sharing your time and talents, you become part of a community working together to reduce food waste while improving nutrition security and access to wholesome food.

How to Volunteer
Some volunteers enjoy the energy of the kitchen. Others prefer food recovery and distribution, or projects they can complete from home.
Whatever role you choose, consistency matters more than frequency. Commit in a way that works for you:
- Weekly: Join a regular shift or shifts each week.
- Every other week: Serve on a dependable alternating schedule.
- Monthly: Reserve one recurring shift each month.
- Occasionally: Sign up for individual openings or special projects as your schedule allows.
Opportunities vary based on current production, food recovery, and organizational needs.
We ask that you start by completing this Volunteer Interest Form. It will help us match your availability, interests, and skills with opportunities that match our needs.
