Mr. Burns Sweet n Spicy Munch Mix

  • 5 cups Corn Chex cereal
  • 5 cups Oatmeal Squares cereal
  • 6 cups oyster crackers or Goldfish crackers
  • 5 cups mini pretzel twists
  • 2 cups local butter such as Old World Creamery
  • 2 cups light brown sugar
  • cup Mr. Burns Mango Habanero Hot Sauce
  • ½ cup local maple syrup such as Maple Sweet Dairy
  • 1 teaspoon table salt
  • ½ teaspoon baking soda
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 3 cups prepared local popcorn such as Valley Popcorn Tender White with Sea Salt


  • reheat the oven to 200°F.
  • In a large bowl, mix cereals, crackers and pretzels together.
  • In a medium saucepan, whisk butter, brown sugar, Mango Habanero hot sauce, maple syrup and salt together. Bring to a boil; reduce heat and simmer without stirring for 5 minutes. Remove from heat; whisk in baking soda and vanilla. Mixture will bubble up and foam.
  • Pour sugar mixture over cereal and stir quickly to coat. Divide between 3 baking sheets.
  • Bake for 1 hour, stirring every 15 minutes. Remove from the oven and let cool on baking sheets.
  • Add popcorn and toss. Store in a container with a tight-fitting lid.
